Border Crossing: You will need a valid passport and possibly a visa for entry into Zimbabwe or Zambia. The border crossing can take some time, so remember to be patient.
Early mornings often offer prime opportunities for wildlife sightings as many animals are active before the heat of the day sets in. Animals such as elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, giraffes, various antelope species, hippos, crocodiles, and a diverse range of birdlife are frequently spotted during morning safaris in Chobe National Park.
However, wildlife sightings can't be guaranteed as they are wild and can move freely within their habitat. Factors like weather, animal behavior, and other natural occurrences can impact their visibility. Nonetheless, our guides in Chobe are experienced in finding and tracking wildlife, maximizing the chances of memorable encounters during morning game drives.
Game drives in Chobe National Park might still occur during light rain, depending on the intensity and safety considerations. However, heavy rain can impact the feasibility of a game drive due to safety concerns, slippery roads, and reduced visibility.
However, if the rainfall is heavy or poses risks like flooding or unsafe driving conditions, game drives might be postponed to ensure a safe and enjoyable safari experience.
Absolutely! The Chobe River sunset cruise is renowned for its abundant wildlife sightings. As you glide along the tranquil waters, you're likely to encounter a variety of animals coming to the riverbanks to drink, bathe, or simply enjoy the evening. Expect to see elephants, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, antelope, and a rich diversity of birdlife. The sunset cruise offers a perfect vantage point to observe these animals in their natural habitat, creating unforgettable moments against the backdrop of a stunning African sunset.
River cruises typically continue as scheduled even if there is light rain. Rainfall in the region is usually sporadic and short-lived, and the cruises are equipped to provide shelter from light rain showers. Wildlife sightings can still occur during rainy weather, and the atmosphere can be quite unique with the dramatic sky and reflections on the water.
However, if the weather conditions pose safety risks or if there are heavy rains or storms that could affect the cruise operation, the tour operators may decide to cancel or reschedule the cruise for another time. It's always a good idea to check with your tour operator or guide beforehand to confirm the status of the cruise if you have concerns about weather conditions.
